External Communications and Marketing Officer - May to December 2026
Shanghai French School is looking for a External Communications and Marketing Officer to manage the school’s digital presence, media relations, and external communications. This temporary position covers a maternity leave and reports to the Director of Communications and Admissions.
Shanghai French School welcomes students
aged 2 to 18, from kindergarten to the Baccalaureate, across its two campuses
in Qingpu and Yangpu. An international and multilingual school, accredited by
the French Ministry of National Education and part of the AEFE network, it provides
high-quality education to over 1,530 students from 60 nationalities.

Your Role
The External Communications and Marketing Officer will oversee the school’s digital presence, media relations, and external communications, working closely with the Admissions team. Your responsibilities include:
- Website & Content: Update and optimize the website (WordPress), manage trilingual content (FR/EN/CN), implement SEO best practices.
- Media & Lead Generation: Deploy media plans in China and internationally, manage relationships with media, KOL/KOC, partners, and run digital campaigns (WeChat, XiaoHongshu, Google Ads, Baidu SEM).
- Social Media & Community: Manage WeChat groups and XiaoHongshu communities, engage audiences, convert followers into leads.
- Digital Analytics: Track KPIs (traffic, leads, conversions), analyze campaigns, propose optimizations.
- Events & PR: Promote school events (open days, livestreams, fairs), coordinate communications.
- Chinese Content: Translate and adapt content for Chinese audiences, manage Chinese channels.
- Monitoring & E-Reputation: Track online presence, monitor competitors, propose visibility improvements.

Your Profile
We are looking for a motivated professional with proven experience in digital marketing and communication. The ideal candidate will have:

Fluent in Chinese, with professional French and English.
- Higher education (Bac +4/5) in communication, marketing, or digital.
- Professional experience in digital marketing and/or communication.
- Experience with Chinese platforms (WeChat, XiaoHongshu, Baidu).
- Proficient in digital marketing tools (SEO, Ads, analytics, CRM).
- Knowledge of WordPress.
- Strong office software skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
The position requires working on both campuses and may involve occasional evening or weekend work for events and campaigns.
Please note that this is a temporary position to cover a maternity leave from May to December 2026.
