Library Teacher – From May 2026


 

Shanghai French School is looking for a dedicated and passionate Library Teacher (French speaking) to join our international community from May 2026. 

Our school welcomes students aged 2 to 18, from kindergarten to the Baccalaureate, across its two campuses in Qingpu and Yangpu. An international and multilingual school, accredited by the French Ministry of National Education and part of the AEFE network, it provides high-quality education to over 1,530 students from 60 nationalities.



Your Role 

As a teacher, you will have the opportunity to contribute to students’ academic success and well-being in a stimulating, multicultural environment. Your main responsibilities include: 

    • Documentary Watch: Monitor new publications, documentary techniques, and cultural information.
    • Loan/Return Management: Oversee the borrowing and returning of materials.
    • Budget Planning: Contribute to the development of the BCD/3C budget.
    • Documentary Research Education: Introduce students to research skills through class activities.
    • Reading Promotion: Collaborate with teachers to organize reading activities (e.g., monthly themed books, literary awards, reading rallies).
    • Reading Recommendations: Provide tailored reading suggestions based on age, class, and reading abilities.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and school life staff to make the BCD/3C a hub for the school community.
    • Interdisciplinary Relations: Foster connections between subjects through projects and activities.
    • Team Management: Supervise and manage a documentary assistant.
    • Networking: Engage with other schools in the Asia region to propose and participate in documentary and literary initiatives.
    • Eco-Delegates & Events: Lead eco-delegate activities and participate in zone-wide events (e.g., EDD competitions).




Your Profile 

We are looking for committed, passionate teachers who are motivated to work in an international environment. The ideal profile includes: 

  • Holder of a French National Education degree or an equivalent teaching qualification;
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience; 
  • ​ Full proficiency in French; English and/or Chinese is a plus;
  • Comfortable with digital educational tools; 
  • Strong knowledge of children’s literature and a solid general culture;
  • Familiar with copyright and image rights; 
  • Able to plan and lead educational activities and welcome authors; 
  • Team-oriented, empathetic, and committed to the school’s educational project.

 

The position is based at Qingpu campus and starts from May 2026.
